Muscle Cars | 2019 Chevrolet Corvette

Chevrolet has earned a reputation for designing some of the best muscle cars throughout history. Check out a few of the coolest muscle cars Chevy has ever made.

Chevrolet Nova

The Chevrolet Nova was first introduced in 1962 and was produced for five generations from 1962 until 1979, and then again from 1985 until 1988. The first generation Chevy Nova was a compact-sized car that first featured an inline-four engine or a straight-six engine. Drivers could not opt for a V-8 engine until 1964. By 1968, Chevrolet had redesigned the Nova to better accommodate a larger and more powerful engine.

By the fifth generation of the Chevy Nova, which was produced between 1985 and 1988, it was equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with a three-, four-, or five-speed automatic transmission. Some models of the Chevy Nova could also be purchased as a convertible, which set it apart from other muscle cars of its time. It often received reviews as being a sensible, straightforward, and affordable vehicle.

Chevrolet Chevelle

Many would consider the Chevrolet Chevelle the Chevrolet Camaro of its time. The Chevelle was first introduced to the public in 1964 and was Chevrolet’s first big step into the muscle car industry. Although the Chevelle did not immediately gain public approval, Chevrolet made necessary changes and it became one of the best-selling muscle cars in 1970.

The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle featured a V-8 engine with 450 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque, impressive specs for a car of its time. The Chevelle quickly became the face of Chevrolet and you rarely heard about Chevy without also hearing about the Chevelle.

Chevrolet Corvette

The Chevrolet Corvette still remains a household name among muscle car enthusiasts. The first ever Chevrolet Corvette was introduced in 1953 as a concept car at the New York Auto Show. The first generation Corvette was only available as a convertible, but later models could be purchased in a coupe design. It was equipped with a 4.34-liter V-8 engine.

Chevrolet made many changes and released many new designs over the years. The Corvette went on to become one of the most-sold muscle cars in history, with Chevrolet still releasing new Corvette models to this day.

2019 Chevrolet Corvette

That brings us to one of the coolest muscles cars of today, the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette. The Corvette has come a long way since it was first released and is today built with a 6.2-liter V-8 engine with 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque and goes from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. The engine is paired with a seven-speed manual or an eight-speed paddle shift automatic transmission.

Similar to previous generations of the Corvette, you can still purchase it in either a coupe or convertible body style. Modern-day designs including a hood air extractor, rear intake vents, and bi-xenon high-intensity daytime lights. The newest Corvette offers performance that drivers are sure to be talking about for years to come.
