Just because summer is ending, doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. You can celebrate the arrival of fall by participating in the many exciting activities in the Woodbridge area. Let’s discuss some of those activities and what they have to offer.

  1. Maggiano’s

Maggiano’s, known for its delicious Italian cuisine, plays host to several fun events throughout the season. One such event is the Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner. While enjoying a three-course, family-style meal, guests will solve a murder mystery. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and participate in the evening’s costume contest. Maggiano’s will award prizes for best individual costume and best couple/group costume.

The ticket price for the event includes the three-course meal, beer, and wine. Other alcoholic beverages will be available at a cash-only bar. Non-alcoholic packages are also available. Please keep in mind that this event is not recommended for those under the age of 18.

For younger family members, Maggiano’s will be holding a special Halloween cooking class. Young chefs will learn how to make delicious caramel apples and decorate pumpkins and cookies. They’ll also receive their very own chef’s hat and apron. Guests will celebrate with a breakfast buffet and coloring activities. If that’s not enough culinary fun, kids can also attend a Thanksgiving cooking class where they will learn how to stuff and prepare a Cornish hen. The Halloween and Thanksgiving cooking classes are recommended for kids ages 4 to 12 years old.

  1. Haunted Disco

If you love dancing the night away, you won’t want to miss Haunted Disco, a pop-up Halloween party held at HQO Navy Yard in Washington, D.C. The event will feature two DJs and two levels of dance floors, plus a light show with special effects. Guests will enjoy four open bars and bar snacks. Be sure to wear your best costume because the seven best-dressed guests will be taken to a luxury hotel for a complementary over-night stay.

  1. The French Embassy

On Nov. 1, The French Embassy will hold a ball to celebrate both Halloween and the French holiday, Toussaint. Guests will enjoy an open bar featuring French wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. A Halloween-themed dessert buffet will include such treats as Père Lachaise Cemetery Vanilla Choux, Pumpkin Bavarois Cheesecake, and Fantôme Macaroons. Dance the night away to French and American hits, swing music, and Halloween favorites. Prizes will be awarded to those wearing the scariest and most creative costumes.

  1. Riverview Church

If you’re looking for an event that the whole family can appreciate, check out Riverview Church’s Fall Festival & Car Show. The first 50 attendees will receive a free goodie bag. You’ll have a blast with the live music, numerous food trucks, and the chance to win great door prizes. The kids will love the bounce house and having their faces painted.

These are just some of the destinations in the Woodbridge area where you can celebrate the fall season. No matter which one you choose to visit, you’re sure to have a great time.
