The 2019 Corvette Stingray carries forward the legendary heritage of this iconic brand. Three trim levels are offered, 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT, all of which are available as a coupe or convertible. The coupe has a removable carbon-fiber roof panel for that open-air feeling.
Each model can also be equipped with the Z51 Performance Package featuring an electronic limited-slip differential, Brembo brake rotors, performance suspension, and a dry-sump oil system. Here are some of the features that make the Stingray a one-of-a-kind sports car.
Exterior Styling
The flowing lines of the Stingray are a work of art, but each panel contributes to its aerodynamics and performance, and the hood air extractor helps to reduce front end lift. The standard wheels are 19-inch front and 20-inch rear 5-split-spoke alloy. The sleek bi-xenon high intensity discharge headlights improve low light visibility.
Power and Performance
At the heart of the Stingray is an aluminum 6.2-liter V-8 engine delivering 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. It has direct injection for better fuel delivery and continuously variable valve timing. Active fuel management can deactivate four cylinders when the engine load is lighter, such as on the highway, but gives you full power when you want it.
The engine is paired with a seven-speed manual transmission featuring active rev matching which controls the engine’s rpm to deliver smooth and balanced shifting. An eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters is available.
The Stingray can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, while the standard Brembo brakes provide you with confident stopping power. To assist the handling, active handling stability control with traction control helps to keep you in control.
The Cockpit
Slip into the perforated leather front GT bucket seats, which on the 2LT and 3LT are heated and ventilated, and use the eight-way power adjustment to get the perfect position for your driving pleasure. The cockpit is driver-oriented with a flowing design featuring stylish lightweight carbon-fiber and aluminum trim.
In front of you is the flat-bottomed, leather-bound steering wheel with cruise, audio, and hands-free calling controls. The instrument cluster has an 8-inch LCD color display with three customizable themes that providing information such as tire temperature, G-force, and more.
2LT and 3LT models have an adjustable color head-up display projected onto the windshield. The 3LT also features a performance data recorder which logs real-time data and video of your driving onto an SD card for you to analyze. Standard drive mode select optimizes the car’s performance with Weather, Eco, Tour, Sport, and Track modes.
Technology
The Chevrolet infotainment system keeps you connected and features an 8-inch touch screen, smartphone integration, Wi-Fi hotspot, voice activation, Bluetooth and USB ports. The 1LT has a nine-speaker Bose audio system with HD radio, while 2LT and 3LT offer a 10 speaker Bose system with subwoofer. 3LT adds a navigation system.
